Team

Who we are

Александр

Alexander

Founder of NOMAP · tour leader · 25 years experience

Bright, open and caring — that’s how trip participants describe him. After one trip with him you realize: you don’t want a different leader anymore. Has been to Iceland more than 30 times.

Super sociable and responsible, he knows how to create a comfortable atmosphere, listens to everyone and shows locations that ordinary guides don’t take you to.

Has a medical degree, is married, father of two — and you feel it in his attentiveness and ability to care for the group.

Виталий

Vitaly

NOMAP tour leader · 25 years experience · great storyteller

Started travelling at age 6. Tried many things over the years — cross-country and downhill skiing, orienteering, cycling, paddle sports, climbing. But fell in love with travel.

Has visited more than 25 countries — from Hawaii in the west to Svalbard in the north. Has been to Iceland more than 20 times. Drove over 40,000 km on the island and hiked more than 2,000 km.

Has organised and joined paddle, cycling and mountain expeditions. A great organiser who will plan your trip down to the smallest detail and surround you with care and attention. All you’ll have to do is enjoy the journey.

Илья

Ilya

NOMAP tour leader · 20 years experience · senior paramedic

Has been to Iceland more than 15 times. Drove over 30,000 km on the island and hiked more than 1,500 km. Swam in every Icelandic waterfall and pool he could find. Favourite spot — the black beach.

His laugh, singing and playlist will blow your mind. Ilya is the life of the party. Open, caring, a real protector. Behind his broad shoulders you feel completely safe. He’ll treat you when needed — and crack you up when you’re down.

The explosive mix is Ilya and Alexander on the same trip: their 20-year friendship turns into endless laughter and jokes. Ilya will pick up any challenge, become your dance partner at the bar and shed a tear with you at the beauty around.

FAQ

Frequently asked

What's included in the tour price?

The price includes airport transfer, accommodation in cozy houses (usually 2–3 people per room), all breakfasts and dinners (we cook ourselves), entrance tickets along the route, car with driver and Wi-Fi, fuel and car insurance, constant tour leader support. Flights and visa are not included.

Can I travel with kids?

Yes. We have a dedicated family format «Iceland Holidays» with a comfortable pace. For other destinations — message us and we'll suggest what suits your child's age.

What visa do I need?

Iceland, Norway, Madeira and Dolomites — Schengen visa. Peru and Bolivia — visa-free up to 90 days for Russian citizens. We help with documents at any stage.

What fitness level is required?

Most tours are mid-level: 5–15 km walks per day on moderate terrain. Jeep tours — comfortable pace, mostly driving. Hikes (Dolomites, Lofoten, Portugal) need stronger fitness. If unsure — ask, we'll be honest about fit.

When is the best time to see northern lights in Iceland?

Aurora season: September – March. Best time is October to February when nights are long and skies clearer. Nobody guarantees 100% — you need clear nights. We run winter tours to South Iceland specifically for aurora hunting.

What if the weather is bad or the tour gets cancelled?

Tours run in any weather except extreme (closed roads, storms). We have backup locations for each day. If we cancel — full refund. We strongly recommend getting travel insurance separately before the trip.

Can I book a private or VIP tour?

Yes. We'll build a program around your dates, pace and group composition. Family, corporate, VIP formats — message us, let's discuss.
